I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
