The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Share Frustration About Size Updates
Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Changes
Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Marketplace Information
The app has more than 100 million users, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
